As I had promised you in my last post, Still on The Fence about Using Online Video Sites to Promote Your Business, I will show you some of my own examples of the power of using video for your online marketing using online video sites.
For some of you in the Internet Network Marketing world, you know that the Renegade Professional by Ann Sieg and Mike Klinger, was launched couple weeks ago. The launch was a smashing success! Total kudos to Ann Sieg, Mike Klinger and The Renegade Professional team for this. I was one of the affiliate that promoted the program and a proud member as well. I believe that it’s given tons of valuable how-to internet marketing information to so many Network Marketers who want to start learning about marketing their businesses online. It also teaches what kind of mindset that every Network Marketer who wants to start marketing online needs to have – the mindset of giving. Setting aside the reasons why I helped promoting the program, I would like to show you how I did it with video marketing.
Step by Step of Online Video Marketing (my style
).

1) I created and edited the video (duh…!) using the Camtasia sofware. You can get the software here. The software cost about $300. Want to get the free ones? Go here.
2) I did a very basic keyword research to see if the keywords that I want is in demand and there aren’t tons of search results to compete with. The keywords that I had in mind was “Network Marketing prospecting”. I used the google keyword tool, traffic estimator to do this research. You can just go to the Google Keyword Traffic Estimator Tool to do this. The result is below.
As you can see, the progress bar indicates that there are some searches on this keyword. However, google keyword tool doesn’t tell you how many searches there are. If you want to be more specific, you have to get some Keyword Research software. I used the Keyword Elite tool do this. See below.
To understand how to interpret the results, I have put some definition of the results shown in each column, the ones that I called out.
- Keyword: My target keyword, “Network Marketing Prospecting”.
- Results: The number of competing websites in Google. If you do a Google search for the search term, you’ll see this number located on the top right hand side of Google’s results. The Google search results for my keyword is 331,000.
However, for more targeted keyword research, I did this search based on Title Page, i.e. how many web pages that have my keyword as their page title.
- Searches: The number of Overture searches performed on the keyword for the previous month. As a good rule of thumb, the number of Google searches is roughly 8-10 times this number. The number of Google searches for my keyword is approximately 538 x 10 = 5,380 in the previous month.
- R/S Ratio: The result of dividing the results column by the searches column. This allows you to see “supply vs demand” for each keyword. The higher the number you find here, typically the better the keyword may be for producing income. The R/S Ratio for “Network Marketing Prospecting” is 4.21, obtained from dividing the Google Search Results number, 2,270, by the number of Searches, 538 (the number of Overture search).
- Adwords CPC: Price range for the Cost Per Click (CPC) for my target keyword. It would cost between $6.92 and $8.65 per click for my target keyword.
For me, 4.21 for an R/S ratio is a pretty darn good number. If the number of searches is multiplied by 10 to find the approximate searches from Google, this would make the searches quantity to be 5,380 and the R/S to be 0.42. This even makes this keyword to be more attractive to use to generate traffic to your website. Why? Because it indicates that the number of Results is 0.42 times the number of Searches. To simply put it, the number of Searches for the “Network Marketing Prospecting” keyword is twice the number of Results! If you look at it from the Supply and Demand perspective, the Demand (the number of Searches) is twice as much as the Supply (the number of Results)! There…a brief lesson on keyword research!
3) I posted my video to three video sites, Viddler.com, Metacafe.com and Youtube.com.
Couple days later…here’s THE RESULTS.
To this day…my Network Marketing Prospecting video still shows up on the 1st page of Google Search Results Page.
The best thing about this is…ITS FREE! Other marketers/advertisers have to pay somewhere between $6.92 – $8.65 Cost Per Click to have their ads show up on the 1st page of the Google Search Engine Page. I DON’T.
Do you want to see my other video marketing example?
What do you think?
Interested to get started but you’re shy about talking infront of the video camera? No worries…you can make a video without having to show your face! Coming up next….
